John Shaqi

فَضْلُ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ عَلَى الْبُرِّ كَفَضْلِنَا عَلَى النَّاسِ وَ مَا مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا وَ قَدْ دَعَا لِأَكْلِ الشَّعِيرِ وَ بَارَكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ مَا دَخَلَ جَوْفاً إِلَّا وَ أَخْرَجَ كُلَّ دَاءٍ فِيهِ وَ هُوَ قُوتُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَ طَعَامُ الْأَبْرَارِ أَبَى اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَ قُوتَ أَنْبِيَائِهِ إِلَّا شَعِيراً .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, form Muhammad Bin Isa, form Yunus, (It has been narrated) from Abu Al-Hassan Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The merit of the barley bread upon the wheat is like our<sup>asws</sup> merit over the people, and there is none from a Prophet<sup>as</sup> except that he<sup>as</sup> for the eating of the barley, and Blessed upon it, and it does not enter the inside except it throws out every illness in it, and it is a livelihood of the Prophets<sup>as</sup>, and food of the righteous. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> the High Refused to Make the livelihood of the Prophets<sup>as</sup> to be (anything) except for barley’.
