John Shaqi

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّا نُرْوَى عِنْدَنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُبْغِضُ الْبَيْتَ اللَّحِمَ فَقَالَ ( عليه السلام ) كَذَبُوا إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي يَغْتَابُونَ فِيهِ النَّاسَ وَ يَأْكُلُونَ لُحُومَهُمْ وَ قَدْ كَانَ أَبِي ( عليه السلام ) لَحِماً وَ لَقَدْ مَاتَ يَوْمَ مَاتَ وَ فِي كُمِّ أُمِّ وَلَدِهِ ثَلَاثُونَ دِرْهَماً لِلَّحْمِ .


Translation

Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Bundar, and someone else, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Yusuf, from Zakariyya Bin Muhammad Al Azdy, from Abdul A’ala, a slave of the progeny of Saam who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘We are reported to in our presence from Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> having said that Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Blessed and High Hates the house of the meat’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘They are lying! But rather Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘The house in which the people are backbiting and eating their (brothers’) meats, and my<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> was meat-loving , and he<sup>asws</sup> passed away, (and on) the day he<sup>asws</sup> passed away in a sleeve of a mother of his<sup>asws</sup> child were thirty Dirhams for (buying) the meat’.
