John Shaqi

كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ لُحُومِ حُمُرِ الْوَحْشِ فَكَتَبَ ( عليه السلام ) يَجُوزُ أَكْلُهُ لِوَحْشَتِهِ وَ تَرْكُهُ عِنْدِي أَفْضَلُ .


Translation

A number of our companions, form Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Nasr Bin Muhammad who said, ‘I wrote to Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> asking him<sup>asws</sup> about the meats of the wild donkeys (Zebras). So he<sup>asws</sup> wrote: ‘It is allowed to eat it, however, leaving is preferable with me<sup>asws</sup>’.
