John Shaqi

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فَأُتِينَا بِسُكُرُّجَاتٍ فَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ وَ قَالَ هَذَا شِيرَازُ الْأُتُنِ اتَّخَذْنَاهُ لِعَلِيلٍ عِنْدَنَا وَ مَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَأْكُلْ وَ مَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَدَعْ .


Translation

Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Khalaf Bin Hammad, from Yahya Bin Abdullah who said, ‘I was in the presence of Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, and they came to us with small dishes. So he<sup>asws</sup> pointed with his<sup>asws</sup> hand to one of them and said: ‘This is <span class="iTxt">Sheyraz Al-Utun</span>. We<sup>asws</sup> take it for the sick ones with us<sup>asws</sup>, and the one who so desires to so let him eat, and the one who so desires to, so let him leave it’.
