عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ أَحْنَفَ أَنَّ بَعْضَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ شَكَا إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَسْوَةَ الْقَلْبِ وَ قِلَّةَ الدَّمْعَةِ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ كُلِ الْعَدَسَ فَأَكَلَ الْعَدَسَ فَرَقَّ قَلْبُهُ وَ جَرَتْ دَمْعَتُهُ . عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ شَكَا رَجُلٌ إِلَى نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) قَسَاوَةَ الْقَلْبِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلَيْكَ بِالْعَدَسِ فَإِنَّهُ يُرِقُّ الْقَلْبَ وَ يُسْرِعُ الدَّمْعَةَ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Furaat Bin Ahnaf that one of the Children of Israel complained to Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic of the hardness of the heart and the scarcity of the tears. So Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Revealed unto him: “Eat the lentils”. So he ate the lentils, and the heart softened and the tears flowed’.<a id="_ftnref1535"></a><sup>[1535]</sup> (P.s. – This is no a Hadeeth) From him, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Muhammad Bin Al Fuzayl, from Abdul Rahman Bin Zayd, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘A man complained to the Prophet<sup>saww</sup> of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> of the hardness of the heart. So he<sup>saww</sup> said to him: ‘It is upon you with (eating) the lentils, for it softens the heart and accelerates the tears’.
