John Shaqi

الْعَجْوَةُ أُمُّ التَّمْرِ وَ هِيَ الَّتِي أَنْزَلَهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ لآِدَمَ ( عليه السلام ) وَ هُوَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ ما قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوها قائِمَةً عَلى أُصُولِها قَالَ يَعْنِي الْعَجْوَةَ .


Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Al Washa, from Ahmad Bin A’iz, from Abu Khadeeja, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘<span class="iTxt">Al-Ajwa</span> is the mother of the dates and it is which Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Sent down from the Paradise to Adam<sup>as</sup>, and these are the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:59#h5"><a href="/books/quran:59#h5">[59:5]</a></a> Whatever palm-tree you cut down or leave standing upon its roots</span> – it Means <span class="iTxt">Al-Ajwa</span>’.
