Translation
From him, from one of his companions, from Hanaan Bin Sudeyr who said, ‘I was with Abu Abdullahasws upon the food-spread, so I inclined towards the endive, so heasws said to me: ‘O Hanaan! Why are you not eating the leek?’ I said, ‘Due to what has come from youasws from the reports regarding the endive’. So heasws said: ‘And what is that which has come from usasws?’ I said, ‘It is said from youasws that youasws said that a drop from the Paradise falls upon it, every day one drop’. So heasws said: ‘So upon the leek then, seven drops’. I said, ‘So how should I eat it?’ Heasws said: ‘Cut off its root and throw away its head’.
