أَطْعِمُوا مَرْضَاكُمُ السِّلْقَ يَعْنِي وَرَقَهُ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ شِفَاءً وَ لَا دَاءَ مَعَهُ وَ لَا غَائِلَةَ لَهُ وَ يُهْدِئُ نَوْمَ الْمَرِيضِ وَ اجْتَنِبُوا أَصْلَهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُهَيِّجُ السَّوْدَاءَ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Abdullah Bin Ja’far, from Muhammad Bin Isa, (It has been narrated) from Abu Al-Hassan Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Feed the Chard to your sick ones, meaning a leaf of it, for therein is a healing, and there is no cure with it, nor is there a suffering for it, and gifts the sleep to the patient, and keep away from its root for it agitates the black bile’.
