نَاوَلَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) جَعْفَرَ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ( عليه السلام ) خِلَالًا فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا جَعْفَرُ تَخَلَّلْ فَإِنَّهُ مَصْلَحَةٌ لِلْفَمِ أَوْ قَالَ لِلِّثَةِ وَ مَجْلَبَةٌ لِلرِّزْقِ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibrahim Al Haza’a, from Abdullah Al Asady, from a man, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Prophet<sup>saww</sup> gave a toothpick to Ja’far<sup>as</sup> Bin Abu Talib<sup>as</sup>, so he<sup>saww</sup> said to him: ‘O Ja’far<sup>as</sup>! Pick teeth for it is corrective for the mouth’, or said: ‘For the gums, and brings sustenance’.
