سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ وَ ذَكَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْنَا مِنَ الْآبَاءِ وَ الْأُمَّهَاتِ وَ الْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ .

ابو علی الاشعری نے محمد بن عبد الجبار اور محمد بن یحیٰ سے، انہوں نے احمد بن محمد سے، سب نے ابن فضال سے، انہوں نے ثعلبہ بن میمون سے، انہوں نے عبید بن زرارہ سے روایت کی کہ: میں نے ابا عبداللہ علیہ السلام کو سنا کہ وہ فرما رہے تھے — اور انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا ذکر کیا — پھر فرمایا: 'اے اللہ! بے شک تو جانتا ہے کہ وہ ہمارے نزدیک آباء و اجداد، ماؤں اور ٹھنڈے پانی سے بھی زیادہ محبوب ہیں۔'
Translation
Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, altogether from Ibn Fazal, from Sa’alba Bin Maymoun, from Ubeyd Bin Zurara who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying, and he<sup>asws</sup> mentioned Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! You<sup>azwj</sup> Know that he<sup>saww</sup> is more beloved to us<sup>asws</sup> than the fathers and the mothers, and ‘الْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ’ the cold water’.
