قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَا يُونُسَ بْنَ ظَبْيَانَ أَبْلِغْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنِّي أَنَّهُ مَنْ شَرِبَ جُرْعَةً مِنْ خَمْرٍ لَعَنَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مَلَائِكَتُهُ وَ رُسُلُهُ وَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ فَإِنْ شَرِبَهَا حَتَّى يَسْكَرَ مِنْهَا نُزِعَ رُوحُ الْإِيمَانِ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ وَ رَكِبَتْ فِيهِ رُوحٌ سَخِيفَةٌ خَبِيثَةٌ مَلْعُونَةٌ فَيَتْرُكُ الصَّلَاةَ فَإِذَا تَرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ عَيَّرَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَهُ عَبْدِي كَفَرْتَ وَ عَيَّرَتْكَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ سَوْأَةً لَكَ عَبْدِي ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) سَوْأَةً سَوْأَةً كَمَا تَكُونُ السَّوْأَةَ وَ اللَّهِ لَتَوْبِيخُ الْجَلِيلِ جَلَّ اسْمُهُ سَاعَةً وَاحِدَةً أَشَدُّ مِنْ عَذَابِ أَلْفِ عَامٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَلْعُونِينَ أَيْنَما ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وَ قُتِّلُوا تَقْتِيلًا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا يُونُسُ مَلْعُونٌ مَلْعُونٌ مَنْ تَرَكَ أَمْرَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِنْ أَخَذَ بَرّاً دَمَّرَتْهُ وَ إِنْ أَخَذَ بَحْراً غَرَّقَتْهُ يُغْضَبُ لِغَضَبِ الْجَلِيلِ عَزَّ اسْمُهُ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Bakr Bin Salih, from Al Shaybani, from Yunus Bin Zibyan who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O Yunus Bin Zabyan! Tell Atiyya from me<sup>asws</sup> that the one who drinks one dosage of wine, Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Curses him, and His<sup>azwj</sup> Angels, and His<sup>azwj</sup> Rasools<sup>as</sup>, and the Believers. So if he were to drink it until he is intoxicated from it, the Spirit of Faith would be removed from his body, and there would ride inside him a stupid, malicious, Accursed Spirit, so he would neglect the Prayer. So when he neglects the Prayer, the Angels Rebuke him, and Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Says: “My<sup>azwj</sup> servant! You have disbelieved and the Angels have Rebuked you. Shame on you, My<sup>azwj</sup> servant!”’ Then Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Disgrace! Disgrace! Disgrace, by Allah<sup>azwj</sup> of the Rebuke of the Sublime, Majestic is His<sup>azwj</sup> Name, an hour of it is more difficult that the Punishment of a thousand years’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:33#h61"><a href="/books/quran:33#h61">[33:61]</a></a> Accursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and killed with a (fierce) killing</span>’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O Yunus! Accursed, Accursed is the one who neglects the Command of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic. If he takes to the land he would be ravaged, and if he takes to the sea he would drown, in anger due to the Anger of the Sublime, Mighty is His<sup>azwj</sup> Name’.
