قُلْتُ لَهُ كَيْفَ كَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) قَالَ لَمَّا غَسَّلَهُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) وَ كَفَّنَهُ سَجَّاهُ ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَشَرَةً فَدَارُوا حَوْلَهُ ثُمَّ وَقَفَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) فِي وَسَطِهِمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَ مَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً فَيَقُولُ الْقَوْمُ كَمَا يَقُولُ حَتَّى صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ وَ أَهْلُ الْعَوَالِي .

محمد بن الحسن، سہل بن زیاد سے، ابن فضّال سے، علی بن النعمان سے، ابو مریم انصاری سے، ابو جعفر (عليه السلام) سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے کہا: "نبی (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) پر صلات کیسے ادا کی گئی؟" انہوں نے فرمایا: "جب امیر المؤمنین (عليه السلام) نے ان کو غسل دیا اور کفن پہنایا، تو انہیں ڈھانپ دیا۔ پھر انہوں نے ان کے پاس دس آدمیوں کو داخل کیا، اور وہ ان کے گرد کھڑے ہو گئے۔ پھر امیر المؤمنین (عليه السلام) ان کے درمیان کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا:" بے شک اللہ اور اس کے فرشتے نبی پر درود بھیجتے ہیں۔ اے ایمان والو! تم بھی ان پر درود بھیجو اور کامل طور پر سلام پیش کرو۔ پس لوگ بھی اسی طرح کہتے جیسے وہ کہہ رہے تھے، یہاں تک کہ اہلِ مدینہ اور اہلِ عوالی نے ان پر صلات ادا کر لی۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ibn Fazzal, from Ali Bin Al Numan, from Abu Maryam Al Ansary, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘How was the (funeral) <span class="iTxt">Salat</span> upon the Prophet<sup>saww</sup>?’ When Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> washed him<sup>saww</sup> and enshrouded him<sup>saww</sup>, covered him<sup>saww</sup>. Then ten (people) came over to him<sup>saww</sup> and they circled around him<sup>saww</sup>. Then Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> paused in the middle of them and he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:33#h56"><a href="/books/quran:33#h56">[33:56]</a></a> Surely Allah and His Angels are Sending Blessings upon the Prophet; O you who believe! Send blessings upon him and submit to him with a (complete) submission</span>’. So the people were saying just as he<sup>asws</sup> was saying until the people of Al-Medina had prayed <span class="iTxt">Salat</span> upon him<sup>saww</sup>, and (so did) the people of Al-Awaly’.
