سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ إِنَّ شَيْطَاناً يُقَالُ لَهُ الْقَفَنْدَرُ إِذَا ضُرِبَ فِي مَنْزِلِ رَجُلٍ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً بِالْبَرْبَطِ وَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ الرِّجَالُ وَضَعَ ذَلِكَ الشَّيْطَانُ كُلَّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ عَلَى مِثْلِهِ مِنْ صَاحِبِ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ نَفَخَ فِيهِ نَفْخَةً فَلَا يَغَارُ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى تُؤْتَى نِسَاؤُهُ فَلَا يَغَارُ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Usman Bin Isa, from Is’haq Bin Jareyr who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘A devil called Al-Qafandar, whenever in the house of a man a flute is played for forty days, and men come over for it, that devil places every part of his upon a similar part of the owner of the house, then blows into him with a blowing, so he does not care after that until they (the other men) come on to his wives, so he does not care’.
