Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Usman Bin Isa, from Abdullah Bin Muskan, from Al Hassan Al Zayyat Al Basry who said, ‘I and a companion of mine went to Abu Ja’farasws, and heasws was is a recently refurbished room, and upon himasws was a pink sheet, and had trimmed hisasws beard and applied kohl. So we asked himasws certain questions. So when we arose, heasws said to me: ‘O Hassan!’ I said, ‘At yourasws service!’ Heasws said: ‘When it is the morning, so come to me, you and your companion’. So I said, ‘Yes, may I be sacrificed for youasws’. So when it was the morning, we went over to himasws, and heasws was in a room in which there was nothing except for a mat and upon himasws was a coarse shirt. Then heasws faced towards my companions, so heasws said: ‘O brother of the people of Al-Basra! You came over to measws yesterday and Iasws was in the wife’s chamber, and yesterday was her day, and the room was her room, and the chattels were her chattels. So she adorned for measws upon (the condition) that Iasws would adorn for her just as she had adorned for measws, therefore do not let anything enter your heart’. So my companion said to himasws, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws! By Allahazwj, there had entered something into my heart, so as for now, so by Allahazwj, Allahazwj has Removed what was (in my heart), and I know that the truth is in what youasws say’.
