كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) بِالْحِيرَةِ فَأَتَاهُ رَسُولُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْخَلِيفَةِ يَدْعُوهُ فَدَعَا بِمِمْطَرٍ أَحَدُ وَجْهَيْهِ أَسْوَدُ وَ الْآخَرُ أَبْيَضُ فَلَبِسَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَمَا إِنِّي أَلْبَسُهُ وَ أَنَا أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ لِبَاسُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ .

ابو علی الاشعری نے اپنے بعض اصحاب سے، انہوں نے محمد بن سنان سے، انہوں نے حذیفہ بن منصور سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں حیرہ میں ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام کی خدمت میں حاضر تھا کہ خلیفہ ابو جعفر کا ایک قاصد آیا اور انہیں بلانے لگا۔ چنانچہ آپ نے ایک برساتی منگوائی جس کا ایک پہلو کالا اور دوسرا سفید تھا اور اسے پہن لیا۔ پھر ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: سنو! میں اسے پہن رہا ہوں جبکہ میں جانتا ہوں کہ یہ اہلِ نار کا لباس ہے۔
Translation
Abu Ali Al Ashary, from one of his companions, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Huzeyfa Bin Mansour who said, ‘I was in the presence of Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> at Al-Hira, a messenger of Abu Ja’far the Caliph came over calling him<sup>asws</sup>. So he<sup>asws</sup> called for the rain-coat, one aspect of it being black and the other white, so he<sup>asws</sup> wore it. Then Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘But, I<sup>asws</sup> am wearing it and I<sup>asws</sup> know that it is a clothing of the inhabitants of the Fire’.
