الْبَسُوا الثِّيَابَ مِنَ الْقُطْنِ فَإِنَّهُ لِبَاسُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) وَ لِبَاسُنَا وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَلْبَسُ الصُّوفَ وَ الشَّعْرَ إِلَّا مِنْ عِلَّةٍ .

ہمارے کئی اصحاب نے سہل بن زیاد سے، انہوں نے محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، انہوں نے عبد اللہ بن عبد الرحمٰن سے، انہوں نے شعیب سے، انہوں نے ابو بصیر سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے، انہوں نے امیر المؤمنین علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: سوتی کپڑے پہنو کیونکہ یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا لباس ہے اور ہمارا لباس ہے؛ اور آپ اون اور بال نہیں پہنتے تھے مگر کسی علت کی وجہ سے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman, from Shuayb, form Abu Baseer, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> from Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Wear the cotton dresses for it is a clothing of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> and our<sup>asws</sup> clothing, and do not become a wearer of the wool, and the hair, except for a reason’.
