خَرَجَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَ مَعَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ فَبَصُرَ بِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) مُقْبِلًا رَاكِباً بَغْلًا فَقَالَ لِمَنْ مَعَهُ مَكَانَكُمْ حَتَّى أُضْحِكَكُمْ مِنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنْهُ قَالَ لَهُ مَا هَذِهِ الدَّابَّةُ الَّتِي لَا تُدْرِكُ عَلَيْهَا الثَّأْرَ وَ لَا تَصْلُحُ عِنْدَ النِّزَالِ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) تَطَأْطَأَتْ عَنْ سُمُوِّ الْخَيْلِ وَ تَجَاوَزَتْ قُمُوءَ الْعَيْرِ وَ خَيْرُ الْأُمُورِ أَوْسَطُهَا فَأُفْحِمَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ فَمَا أَحَارَ جَوَاباً .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, or someone else, raising it, said, ‘Abdul Samam Bin Ali went out and with him was a group of people, so he saw Abu Al Hassan Musa Bin Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> riding a mule towards him. So he said to the ones who were with him, ‘Stay in your places until I make you laugh from Musa<sup>asws</sup> Bin Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>’. So when he approached him<sup>asws</sup>, said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘What is this animal upon which neither can the vengeance be realised nor is it correct for the battleground’. So Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> said to him: ‘I<sup>asws</sup> have come down from the elevation of the cavalry horse and have exceeded the lowliness of the wild ass, and the best of the affairs is in its middle’. So Abdul Samad was speechless and could not responded with an answer’.
