أَصْلُ الْفَرَائِضِ مِنْ سِتَّةِ أَسْهُمٍ لَا تَزِيدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ وَ لَا تَعُولُ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ الْمَالُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لِأَهْلِ السِّهَامِ الَّذِينَ ذُكِرُوا فِي الْكِتَابِ .

ابو علی الاشعری نے محمد بن عبد الجبار سے، انہوں نے صفوان بن یحیی سے، انہوں نے خزیمہ بن یقطین سے، انہوں نے عبد الرحمن بن الحجاج سے، انہوں نے بکیر سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: فرائض (وراثت کے واجب حصوں) کی اصل چھ حصوں سے ہے — یہ اس سے زیادہ نہیں ہوتے، اور نہ ان پر عول ہوتا ہے۔ پھر اس کے بعد مال ان اہلِ سِہام کے لیے ہے جن کا ذکر کتاب (قرآن) میں کیا گیا ہے۔
Translation
Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan Bin Yahya from Khuzayma Bin Yaqteen, from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj, from Bukeyr, Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> has said: ‘The origins of the obligatory (shares of inheritances) are from six shares, not exceeding upon that, and there is no deficiency/excess to it. Then the wealth, after that, is for the people of the shares which are Mentioned in the Book (Quran)’.
