فِي نِصْفِ الْجَلْدَةِ وَ ثُلُثِ الْجَلْدَةِ يُؤْخَذُ بِنِصْفِ السَّوْطِ وَ ثُلُثَيِ السَّوْطِ .

اس سے، علی بن الحکم سے، ہشام بن سالم سے، ابوعبداللہ (علیہ السلام) سے روایت ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: آدھے کوڑے اور تہائی کوڑے کے بارے میں — کوڑے کو آدھے سے اور دو تہائی سے پکڑا جائے گا۔
Translation
From him, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Hisham Bin Salim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said regarding half the Lashing, and a third of the lashing: ‘He (the whipper) would grab by half (length of) the whip, and a third (length of) of the whip’.
