قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) رَجُلٌ قَذَفَ قَوْماً قَالَ قَالَ بِكَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ يُضْرَبُ حَدّاً وَاحِداً فَإِنْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْقَذْفِ ضُرِبَ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ حَدّاً .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Aban Bin Usman, form Al Hassan Al Ataar who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘A man who slanders a people?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘With one speech?’ I said, ‘Yes’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He would be whipped one Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>). So if he had differentiated between them with regards to the slander, he would be whipped a Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) for each one of them’.
