قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) لَا أَكُونُ أَوَّلَ الشُّهُودِ الْأَرْبَعَةِ عَلَى الزِّنَى أَخْشَى أَنْ يَنْكُلَ بَعْضُهُمْ فَأُجْلَدَ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Najran, from Aasim Bin Humeyd, from Muhammad Bin Qays, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>: ‘Amir Al Momineen<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘May I<sup>asws</sup> not be the first of the witnessed upon the adultery, for fear that one of them might withdraw, so I<sup>asws</sup> would be whipped’.
