سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ نَصْرَانِيٍّ قَذَفَ مُسْلِماً فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا زَانِ فَقَالَ يُجْلَدُ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً لِحَقِّ الْمُسْلِمِ وَ ثَمَانِينَ سَوْطاً إِلَّا سَوْطاً لِحُرْمَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ يُحْلَقُ رَأْسُهُ وَ يُطَافُ بِهِ فِي أَهْلِ دِينِهِ لِكَيْ يُنَكَّلَ غَيْرُهُ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Abbad Bin Suheyb who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> was asked about a Christian who had slandered a Muslim, so he said to him, ‘O adulterer!’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He would be whipped eighty lashes due to a right of the Muslim, and eighty lashes except for one due to the sanctity of Al-Islam, and his head would be shaved off, and he would be paraded with among the people of his religion as a lesson for others’.
