Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad and Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, altogether from Ibn Mahboub, from Ibn Raib, from Abu Ubeyda, Abu Abdullahasws has said: ‘The slave, when he is a fugitive from his master, then steals, he would not be cut, and he is a fugitive, because he is a renegade from Al-Islam, but he would be called to the return to his master, and the entry into the fold of Al-Islam. So if he were to refuse to return to his master, his hand would be cut due to the theft, then he would be killed; and the apostate, when he steals is at his status’.
