سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَتَلَ مَمْلُوكَهُ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ غَيْرَ مَعْرُوفٍ بِالْقَتْلِ ضُرِبَ ضَرْباً شَدِيداً وَ أُخِذَ مِنْهُ قِيمَةُ الْعَبْدِ وَ يُدْفَعُ إِلَى بَيْتِ مَالِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ مُتَعَوِّداً لِلْقَتْلِ قُتِلَ بِهِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ismail Bin Marrar, from Yunus, (It has been narrated) from them<sup>asws</sup> (one of the Imams<sup>asws</sup>) having been asked about a man who killed a slave of his. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If he was not well known with the killing (of the slaves), he would be struck with intense strikes, and the price of the slave would be taken from him to the public treasury of the Muslims; and if he was habitual in the killing, he would be killed due to it’.
