John Shaqi

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ أَرْبَعَةً شَهِدُوا عِنْدِي عَلَى رَجُلٍ بِالزِّنَى وَ فِيهِمْ وَلَدُ الزِّنَى لَحَدَدْتُهُمْ جَمِيعاً لِأَنَّهُ لَا تَجُوزُ شَهَادَتُهُ وَ لَا يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Ibn Fazzal, from Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al Ashary, from Ubeyd Bin Zurara, from his father who said, ‘I heard Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘If four were to testify in my<sup>asws</sup> presence against a man, with the adultery, and among them is a son of the adultery (bastard), I<sup>asws</sup> would apply the legal penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) upon them all, because he (the bastard), his testimony is not allowed, nor can he lead the people (in Prayer)’.
