احمد بن محمد نے علی بن الحکم سے، انہوں نے علی بن ابی حمزہ سے، انہوں نے ابو بصیر سے روایت کی، وہ کہتے ہیں: مجھ سے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام نے بیان کیا کہ ان کے والد کے پاس خوارج میں سے ایک عورت تھی — مجھے گمان ہے انہوں نے کہا بنو حنیفہ سے — تو ان کے ایک غلام نے ان سے کہا: 'اے ابن رسول اللہ! آپ کے پاس ایک ایسی عورت ہے جو آپ کے نانا سے بیزاری ظاہر کرتی ہے۔' تو میرے والد کے لیے فیصلہ ہو گیا کہ انہوں نے اسے طلاق دے دی۔ پھر اس نے ان پر اپنے مہر کا دعوی کیا اور اسے لے کر مدینہ کے امیر کے پاس فریاد کرنے گئی۔ تو مدینہ کے امیر نے ان سے کہا: 'اے علی! یا تو قسم کھاؤ یا اسے اس کا حق دو۔' تو انہوں نے مجھ سے فرمایا: 'اٹھو بیٹے، اسے چار سو دینار دے دو۔' میں نے ان سے عرض کیا: 'ابا جان! آپ پر قربان، کیا آپ حق پر نہیں؟' فرمایا: 'ہاں بیٹے، لیکن میں نے اللہ کو اس سے بہت بلند سمجھا کہ اس کی قسم صبر کی یمین کے طور پر کھاؤں۔'

Translation

Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘Abu Ja’far^asws narrated to me that his^asws father^asws, there was in his^asws presence a woman from the Kharijites, I believe he^asws said from the Clan of Haneefa. So a slave of his^asws said to him^asws, ‘O son^asws of Rasool-Allah^saww! In your^asws presence is a woman who disavows from your^asws grandfather^saww’. So my^asws father^asws judged that he^asws divorces her’. So she claimed for her dower upon him. So she went over with him^asws to the Emir of Al-Medina claiming it. So the Emir of Al-Medina said to him^asws, ‘O Ali (Bin Al-Husayn^asws)! But, you^asws either swear an oath or you^asws giver her, her right’. So he^asws said to me^asws: ‘Arise, O my^asws son^asws, so give her four hundred Dinars’. So I^asws said to him^asws: ‘O Father^asws! May I be sacrificed for you^asws! Are you^asws not rightful?’ He^asws said: ‘Yes, my^asws son^asws! But, I^asws delayed the swearing of an oath by Allah^azwj patiently’.
