John Shaqi

لَا يُسْتَحْلَفُ الرَّجُلُ إِلَّا عَلَى عِلْمِهِ وَ لَا يَقَعُ الْيَمِينُ إِلَّا عَلَى الْعِلْمِ اسْتُحْلِفَ أَوْ لَمْ يُسْتَحْلَفْ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ismail Bin Marrar, from Yunus, fro one of his companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The man must not be made to swear except based upon his knowledge, and the oath would not take place except upon the knowledge, whether he has been made to swear or not made to swear’.
