John Shaqi

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلَ (عليه السلام) يَقُولُ مِنَ الرِّيحِ الشَّابِكَةِ وَ الْحَامِ وَ الْإِبْرِدَةِ فِي الْمَفَاصِلِ تَأْخُذُ كَفَّ حُلْبَةٍ وَ كَفَّ تِينٍ يَابِسٍ تَغْمُرُهُمَا بِالْمَاءِ وَ تَطْبُخُهُمَا فِي قِدْرٍ نَظِيفَةٍ ثُمَّ تُصَفِّي ثُمَّ تُبَرِّدُ ثُمَّ تَشْرَبُهُ يَوْماً وَ تَغِبُّ يَوْماً حَتَّى تَشْرَبَ مِنْهُ تَمَامَ أَيَّامِكَ قَدْرَ قَدَحٍ رَوِيٍّ.


Translation

<a id="_Toc492473346">H 14669</a> – Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from bakr Bin Saleh who said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-i">I</span> heard Abu Al-Hassan</span> the First<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘The one with wind (gastric trouble), and <span class="iTxt">Al-Haam</span>, and the coldness in the joints should take a handful of fenugreek (plant) and a handful of dry fig, soak these two in the water, and cook these two in a clean pot, then drain it, then cool it, then drink from it every other day until the completeness of your days the measurement of a cup’.
