سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَ لِلرَّسُولِ إِذا دَعاكُمْ لِما يُحْيِيكُمْ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي وَلَايَةِ عَلِيٍّ (عليه السلام) قَالَ وَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ ما تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُها وَ لا حَبَّةٍ فِي ظُلُماتِ الْأَرْضِ وَ لا رَطْبٍ وَ لا يابِسٍ إِلَّا فِي كِتابٍ مُبِينٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ الْوَرَقَةُ السِّقْطُ وَ الْحَبَّةُ الْوَلَدُ وَ ظُلُمَاتُ الْأَرْضِ الْأَرْحَامُ وَ الرَّطْبُ مَا يَحْيَى مِنَ النَّاسِ وَ الْيَابِسُ مَا يُقْبَضُ وَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ فِي إِمَامٍ مُبِينٍ قَالَ وَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كانَ عاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَقَالَ عَنَى بِذَلِكَ أَيِ انْظُرُوا فِي الْقُرْآنِ فَاعْلَمُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَ مَا أَخْبَرَكُمْ عَنْهُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ فَقَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ وَ بِاللَّيْلِ أَ فَلا تَعْقِلُونَ قَالَ تَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي الْقُرْآنِ إِذَا قَرَأْتُمُ الْقُرْآنَ تَقْرَأُ مَا قَصَّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ خَبَرِهِمْ.
Translation
<a id="_Toc492473478">H 14797</a> – Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Khalid, and Al-Husayn Bin Saeed together from Al-Nazar Bin Suweyd, from Yahya Al-Halby, from Abdullah Bin Muskaan, from Zayd Bin Al-Waleed Al-Khash’amy, from Abu Al-Rabi’e Al-Shamy who said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-i">I</span> asked Abu Abdullah</span><sup>asws</sup> about the Statement of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:8#h24"><a href="/books/quran:8#h24">[8:24]</a></a> O you who believe! answer (the call of) Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life”</span>. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It was Revealed regarding the Wilayah of Ali<sup>asws</sup>’. He (the narrator) said, ‘And I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the Statement of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:6#h59"><a href="/books/quran:6#h59">[6:59]</a></a>, and there falls not a leaf but He knows it, nor a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything wet nor dry but (it is all) in a clear book”</span>. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The fallen leaf (is the miscarried child) and the grain is the child, and the darkness of the earth is the womb, and the wet is who lives from the people, and the dry is who has been Captured (died), and all that is in the manifest Imam<sup>asws</sup>’. He (the narrator) said, ‘And I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the Statement of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:30#h42"><a href="/books/quran:30#h42">[30:42]</a></a> Say: Travel in the land, then see how was the end of those before”</span>. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It means by that, look in the Quran so you will come to know how was the eventual end of those who were before you, and what it is informing you from it’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘The Statement of the Mighty and Majestic: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:37#h137"><a href="/books/quran:37#h137">[37:137]</a></a> And most surely you pass by them in the morning, <a href="/#/books/quran:37#h138"><a href="/books/quran:37#h138">[37:138]</a></a> And at night; do you not then understand?”</span> He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘You pass by them in the Quran when you recite the Quran, read what story Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic has Told you from their news’.
