<a id="_Toc492473482">H 14801</a> – Yahya, from Abdulah Bin Muskaan, from Zureys who said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-t">T</span>he people disputed</span> in the presence of Abu Ja’farasws. So some of them said, ‘The wars fought by Aliasws were (against a people) more evil than the wars fought by the Rasool Allahsaww, and some of them said, ‘The wars fought by the Rasool Allahsaww were (against a people) more evil than the wars fought by Aliasws’. He (the narrator) said, ‘So Abu Ja’far listened to them and said: ‘What are you all saying?’ So they said, ‘May Allahazwj keep youasws well, we are disputing with regards to the wars of the Rasool Allahsaww and the wars of Aliasws. Some of us are saying that the wars of Aliasws were (against a people) more evil than the wars fought by the Rasool Allahsaww, whilst some of us are saying that the wars fought by the Messengersaww were (against a people) more evil than the wars fought by Aliasws’. So Abu Ja’farasws said: ‘No! But, the wars of Aliasws were (against a people) more evil than the wars of the Rasool Allahsaww’. So I said to himasws, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws, the wars of Aliasws were (against a people) more evil than the wars of the Rasool Allahsaww?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes, and Iasws shall inform you about that. The Messengersaww fought wars (against a people) who did not accept Al-Islam, and that the wars of Aliasws were (against a people) who accepted Al-Islam, then fought against himasws’.
