قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي حَيَاتِي خَيْراً وَ فِي مَمَاتِي خَيْراً قَالَ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمَّا حَيَاتَكَ فَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا فَمَا لَنَا فِي وَفَاتِكَ فَقَالَ أَمَّا فِي حَيَاتِي فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَالَ وَ ما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَ أَنْتَ فِيهِمْ وَ أَمَّا فِي مَمَاتِي فَتُعْرَضُ عَلَيَّ أَعْمَالُكُمْ فَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكُمْ.
Translation
<a id="_Toc492473490">H 14809</a> – Ali, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muhammad Bin Abu Hamza and someone else, has reported the following: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-a">A</span>bu Abdullah</span><sup>asws</sup> says that the Rasool Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘There is goodness for you in my<sup>saww</sup> being alive and goodness for you in my<sup>saww</sup> passing away’. So they said, ‘O Rasool Allah<sup>saww</sup>! As for your<sup>saww</sup> being alive, so we have known that. So what is (goodness) for us in your<sup>saww</sup> passing away?’ He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘As for my<sup>saww</sup> being alive, so Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic has Said: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:8#h33"><a href="/books/quran:8#h33">[8:33]</a></a> But Allah was not going to chastise them while you were among them”</span>. And as for my<sup>saww</sup> passing away, your deeds would get presented to me<sup>saww</sup>, so I<sup>saww</sup> would be seeking Forgiveness for you’.
