قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عليه السلام) كُنْتُ أُبَايِعُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) عَلَى الْعُسْرِ وَ الْيُسْرِ وَ الْبَسْطِ وَ الْكُرْهِ إِلَى أَنْ كَثُرَ الْإِسْلَامُ وَ كَثُفَ قَالَ وَ أَخَذَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَلِيٌّ (عليه السلام) أَنْ يَمْنَعُوا مُحَمَّداً وَ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ مِمَّا يَمْنَعُونَ مِنْهُ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَ ذَرَارِيَّهُمْ فَأَخَذْتُهَا عَلَيْهِمْ نَجَا مَنْ نَجَا وَ هَلَكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ.
Translation
<a id="_Toc492473503">H 14822</a> – Narrated to us Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali, from Safwaan, from Muhammad Bin Ziyad Bin Isa, from Al-Husayn Bin Mus’ab, who has said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-a">A</span>bu Abdullah</span><sup>asws</sup> has said: ‘Amir-ul-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘I<sup>asws</sup> had pledged allegiance to the Rasool Allah<sup>saww</sup>, to be (loyal) in the hardship, and ease, and the freedom, and the restriction, until such time Al-Islam spreads and becomes strong’. And Ali<sup>asws</sup> took from them (Shites) (a Covenant) that they shall prevent from Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> and his<sup>saww</sup> descendants, what they had prevented themselves as well as their own children from. So I<sup>asws</sup> also took from them (Shites). Rescued was the one who was rescued, and destroyed was the one who was destroyed’.
