كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي بِذُلِّ نَفْسِي حُمْرَ النَّعَمِ وَ مَا تَجَرَّعْتُ جُرْعَةً أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ جُرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ لَا أُكَافِي بِهَا صَاحِبَهَا .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hisham Bin Al Hakam, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Ali<sup>asws</sup> Bin Al-Husayn<sup>asws</sup> was saying: ‘I<sup>asws</sup> do not love to humiliate myself<sup>asws</sup> for the Bounties, and I<sup>asws</sup> have not swallowed a portion more beloved to me<sup>asws</sup> than the portion of anger, not seeking retribution by it from its agitator’.
