Al-Kafi 1882

Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ibn Fazzal, from Al A’ala Bin Razeyn, from Muhammad Bin Muslim who said, ‘I heard Abu Ja’far<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> mentioning that an Angel came over to Rasool-Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> and he said, ‘Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Gives you<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> choice – you<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> can either become a servant, a humble Rasool<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>’ or to be an angel and a messenger. So he<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> looked at Jibraeel<sup style="font-weight: normal">as</sup> and gestured with his<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> hand in humbleness, so he<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> said: ‘A servant, a humble Rasool<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>’. So he (the Angel) said, ‘The Rasool<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>, along with that there would be no reduction from what is there for you<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> in the Presence of your<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> Lord<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> by antyhing’. He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘And with him (the Angel) were the keys of the treasures of the earth’.
