قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ اكْتُبْ لِي إِلَى إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْكَاتِبِ لَعَلِّي أُصِيبُ مِنْهُ قَالَ أَنَا أَضَنُّ بِكَ أَنْ تَطْلُبَ مِثْلَ هَذَا وَ شِبْهَهُ وَ لَكِنْ عَوِّلْ عَلَى مَالِي .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr who said, ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup>, ‘May I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>! (Please) write (a letter) for me to Ismail Bin Dawood, the scribe, so that I can attain (some work) from him’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘I<sup>asws</sup> resent for you that you should be seeking (from) the likes of this one and his like, but you can count upon my<sup>asws</sup> wealth’.
