اور ان سے، ان کے والد سے، اسماعیل بن مرار سے، یونس سے، داؤد بن فرقد سے، المعلی بن خنیس سے جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے کہا: جب آپ کے پہلوں کی ایک حدیث آئے اور آپ کے آخر والوں کی ایک حدیث آئے، تو ہم ان میں سے کس پر عمل کریں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اس پر عمل کرتے رہو یہاں تک کہ تم تک زندہ (امام) کی (بات) پہنچے؛ پس جب تمہیں زندہ (امام) سے (بات) پہنچے تو ان کے قول پر عمل کرو۔ راوی نے کہا: پھر ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: ہم، اللہ کی قسم، تمہیں کسی ایسی چیز میں نہیں ڈالتے جو تمہاری طاقت سے باہر ہو۔ اور ایک دوسری روایت میں: سب سے جدید (حدیث) لو۔

Translation

And from him, from his father, from Ismail Bin Marrar, from Yunus, from Dawood Bin Farqad, from Al Moalla Bin Khunays who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah^asws, ‘When there comes a Hadeeth from your^asws former ones^asws, and a Hadeeth from your^asws later ones^asws, by which of these two should we take?’ So he^asws said, ‘Be taking with it until there reached you all from the living one^asws. So when there does reach you from the living one^asws, so adhere to his^asws words’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then Abu Abdullah^asws said: ‘We^asws, by Allah^azwj, do not enter you all into anything except in what there is ease for you’. And in another report, ‘(He^asws said): ‘Take by the Hadeeth’.
