قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَا يَمْنَعُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَبَرَّ وَالِدَيْهِ حَيَّيْنِ وَ مَيِّتَيْنِ يُصَلِّيَ عَنْهُمَا وَ يَتَصَدَّقَ عَنْهُمَا وَ يَحُجَّ عَنْهُمَا وَ يَصُومَ عَنْهُمَا فَيَكُونَ الَّذِي صَنَعَ لَهُمَا وَ لَهُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ فَيَزِيدَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِبِرِّهِ وَ صِلَتِهِ خَيْراً كَثِيراً .
Translation
From him, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Al Hakam Bin Miskeen, from Muhammad Bin Marwan who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘What prevents the man from you from being righteous with his parents, be they alive or dead. He can pray <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> on their behalf, and give charity on their behalf, and perform Hajj on their behalf, and Fast on their behalf. Thus, that which he does for them both would happen to for him, the like of that, and Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic would Increase him, due to his righteousness, and his kinship, a lot of good’.
