John Shaqi

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أُوَدِّعُهُ فَقَالَ يَا خَيْثَمَةُ أَبْلِغْ مَنْ تَرَى مِنْ مَوَالِينَا السَّلَامَ وَ أَوْصِهِمْ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَ أَنْ يَعُودَ غَنِيُّهُمْ عَلَى فَقِيرِهِمْ وَ قَوِيُّهُمْ عَلَى ضَعِيفِهِمْ وَ أَنْ يَشْهَدَ حَيُّهُمْ جِنَازَةَ مَيِّتِهِمْ وَ أَنْ يَتَلَاقَوْا فِي بُيُوتِهِمْ فَإِنَّ لُقِيَّا بَعْضِهِمْ بَعْضاً حَيَاةٌ لِأَمْرِنَا رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عَبْداً أَحْيَا أَمْرَنَا يَا خَيْثَمَةُ أَبْلِغْ مَوَالِيَنَا أَنَّا لَا نُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئاً إِلَّا بِعَمَلٍ وَ أَنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَنَالُوا وَلَايَتَنَا إِلَّا بِالْوَرَعِ وَ أَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ حَسْرَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ وَصَفَ عَدْلًا ثُمَّ خَالَفَهُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ .


Translation

From him, from Ali Bin Al Nu’man, from Ibn Muskan, from Khaysama who said, ‘I went over to Abu Ja’far<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> to bid him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> farewell, so he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘O Khaysama! Deliver the greetings to the ones in our<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> <span class="iTxt">Wilayah</span> you come across, and advise them with the fear of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> the Magnificent and that their rich ones should be supporting upon their poor ones, and their strong ones upon their weak ones, and their living ones should attend the funerals of their dead ones, and they should meet up in their houses, for the meeting of some of them with others is a revival of our<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> matter (<span class="iTxt">Wilayah</span>). May Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> have Mercy on a servant who revives our<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> matter. O Khaysama! Deliver to the ones in our<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> <span class="iTxt">Wilayah</span> that we<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> will not make them needless of anything from Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> except with deeds, and they will never attain our<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> <span class="iTxt">Wilayah</span> except with the piety, and that the one with the most intense of regrets among the people on the Day of Judgement would be the one who ascribes the justice, then opposes it to something else’.
