إِنَّ شِيعَةَ عَلِيٍّ كَانُوا خُمُصَ الْبُطُونِ ذُبُلَ الشِّفَاهِ أَهْلَ رَأْفَةٍ وَ عِلْمٍ وَ حِلْمٍ يُعْرَفُونَ بِالرَّهْبَانِيَّةِ فَأَعِينُوا عَلَى مَا أَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِالْوَرَعِ وَ الِاجْتِهَادِ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Ali Bin Raib, from Ibn Abu Yafour, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Shia of Ali<sup>asws</sup> were of empty bellies, shrivelled lips, people of clemency, knowledge and forbearance. They were recognised with the monasticism, therefore assist (each other) on what you are upon, with the piety and the striving’.
