صَلَّى أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) الْفَجْرَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ حَتَّى صَارَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى قِيدِ رُمْحٍ وَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ وَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَدْرَكْتُ أَقْوَاماً يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّداً وَ قِيَاماً يُخَالِفُونَ بَيْنَ جِبَاهِهِمْ وَ رُكَبِهِمْ كَانَ زَفِيرُ النَّارِ فِي آذَانِهِمْ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَهُمْ مَادُوا كَمَا يَمِيدُ الشَّجَرُ كَأَنَّمَا الْقَوْمُ بَاتُوا غَافِلِينَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَمَا رُئِيَ ضَاحِكاً حَتَّى قُبِضَ ( صلوات الله عليه ) .
Translation
From him, from Al Sindy Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Al Salt, from Abu Hamza, (It has been narrated) from Ali<sup>asws</sup> Bin Al-Husayn<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Amir Al-<span class="iTxt">Momineen</span><sup>asws</sup> prayed <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> Al-Fajr, then he<sup>asws</sup> did not cease to be in his<sup>asws</sup> place until the (shadow of the) sun came to be to the length of a spear, and he<sup>asws</sup> turned by his<sup>asws</sup> face towards the people and he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘By Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! I<sup>asws</sup> had come across a group of people who were staying awake at night for their Lord<sup>azwj</sup>, prostrating and standing, interchanging between their foreheads and their knees, as if like the exhalation of the Fire (of Hell could be heard) in their ears. Whenever Allah<sup>azwj</sup> was Mentioned in their presence, swaying like the swaying of the trees. It is as if the group of people has spent the nights oblivious (of the world)’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> arose, and he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> was not seen laughing until he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> passed away’.
