كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ الْحَاجَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ اصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيَجْعَلُ لَكَ فَرَجاً قَالَ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ سِجْنِ الْكُوفَةِ كَيْفَ هُوَ فَقَالَ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ ضَيِّقٌ مُنْتِنٌ وَ أَهْلُهُ بِأَسْوَإِ حَالٍ قَالَ فَإِنَّمَا أَنْتَ فِي السِّجْنِ فَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ فِيهِ فِي سَعَةٍ أَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الدُّنْيَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب، احمد بن محمد بن خالد سے، وہ عثمان بن عیسیٰ سے، وہ محمد بن عجلان سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے کہا: میں ابو عبداللہ (عليه السلام) کی خدمت میں حاضر تھا، تو ایک شخص نے اپنی حاجت کی شکایت ان (عليه السلام) سے کی۔ پس انہوں نے (عليه السلام) اس سے فرمایا: "صبر کرو، کیونکہ اللہ جلد ہی تمہارے لیے کشادگی پیدا فرمائے گا۔" راوی نے کہا: "پھر وہ (عليه السلام) کچھ دیر خاموش رہے، پھر اس شخص کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا: 'مجھے کوفہ کے زندان کے بارے میں بتاؤ — وہ کیسا ہے؟' تو اس نے کہا: 'اللہ آپ کو سلامت رکھے (عليه السلام)! وہ تنگ، بدبودار ہے، اور اس کے رہنے والے بدترین حالت میں ہیں۔' انہوں نے (عليه السلام) فرمایا: 'تو تم درحقیقت زندان ہی میں ہو، اور تم چاہتے ہو کہ اس میں بھی فراخی ہو؟ کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ دنیا مومن (المؤمن) کے لیے قید خانہ ہے؟'"
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Usman Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Ajlan who said, ‘I was in the presence of Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, and a man complained to him<sup>asws</sup> of his needs. So he<sup>asws</sup> said to him: ‘Be patient, from Allah<sup>azwj</sup> would soon Make a relief to be for you’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> remained silent for a while, then turned towards the man and he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘Inform me about the prison of Al-Kufa, how is it?’ So he said, ‘May Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Keep you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> well! Narrow, smelly, and its inhabitants are in an evil state’. He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘So rather, you are in the prison, and you are wanting that you happen to be capacious in it? Do you not know that the world is a prison for the <span class="iTxt">Momin</span>?’.
