الْفَقْرُ الْمَوْتُ الْأَحْمَرُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) الْفَقْرُ مِنَ الدِّينَارِ وَ الدِّرْهَمِ فَقَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ مِنَ الدِّين .ِ

ہمارے بعض اصحاب، سهل بن زیاد سے، علی بن اسباط سے، اس شخص سے جس نے ان کا ذکر کیا، ابو عبد اللہ (عليه السلام) سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: فقر سرخ موت ہے۔ تو میں نے ابو عبد اللہ (عليه السلام) سے کہا: "کیا فقر دینار اور درہم سے ہے؟" انہوں نے فرمایا: "نہیں، بلکہ دین سے ہے۔"
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ali Bin Asbat, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The poverty is the red death’. So I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘(Is it) the poverty from the Dinars and the Dirhams?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, but from the Religion’.
