ہمارے بہت سے اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد بن خالد سے، انہوں نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے محمد بن حمران سے، انہوں نے ابو عبیدہ الحذاء سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: ابو جعفر علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: 'اے زیاد! جھگڑوں سے بچو کیونکہ یہ شک پیدا کرتے ہیں، عمل کو گھٹاتے ہیں اور ان میں پڑنے والے کو برباد کر دیتے ہیں؛ اور شاید وہ کوئی ایسی بات کہہ دے جو اسے بخشی نہ جائے۔ بے شک پہلے زمانے میں ایک قوم تھی جس نے اس علم کو چھوڑ دیا جس کے ساتھ وہ مکلف تھی اور اس علم کی تلاش کی جس سے وہ بے نیاز کیے گئے تھے، یہاں تک کہ ان کی گفتگو اللہ تک جا پہنچی اور وہ حیران و پریشان ہو گئے، یہاں تک کہ آدمی کو سامنے سے بلایا جاتا تو وہ پیچھے سے جواب دیتا، اور پیچھے سے بلایا جاتا تو سامنے سے جواب دیتا۔ اور ایک دوسری روایت میں ہے: 'یہاں تک کہ وہ زمین میں بھٹک گئے۔'

Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muhammad Bin Humran, from Abu Ubeyda Al Haza’a who said, ‘Abu Ja’far^asws said: ‘O Ziyad! Beware of the disputes, for these inherit the doubt and the confiscation of the deeds and would deteriorate its performer, as he may speak with something, so it would not be Forgiven for him. It was so that in the past there were a people who neglected the knowledge what they had been allocated with and they sought a knowledge which did not restrain them to the extent that their speech ended up to Allah^azwj. So they got confused to the extent that the man would be called from in front of him, so he would answer from behind him, and he would be called from behind him, so he would answer from in front of him’. And in another report, ‘To the extent that they wandered in the earth’.
