Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from one of his companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’farasws having said: ‘The remaining upon the deed is more difficult than the deed itself’. He said, ‘And what is the remaining upon the deed?’ Heasws said: ‘The man maintains relationships by helping (a relative) and he spends an expenditure for the Sake of Allahazwj Alone, there being no associates for Himazwj, so a secretive good deed is Recorded for him. Then he mentions it and it gets Deleted, and an open good deed is Recorded for him. Then he mentions it (again), and a showing-off is Recorded for him’.
