قَالَ لِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُوصَفُ بِمَحْدُودِيَّةٍ عَظُمَ رَبُّنَا عَنِ الصِّفَةِ فَكَيْفَ يُوصَفُ بِمَحْدُودِيَّةٍ مَنْ لَا يُحَدُّ وَ لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ وَ هُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْأَبْصَارَ وَ هُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ .

محمد بن اسماعیل نے فضل بن شاذان سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے ابراہیم بن عبدالحمید سے، انہوں نے ابو حمزہ سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: علی بن الحسین علیہ السلام نے مجھ سے فرمایا: 'اے ابو حمزہ! بے شک اللہ کو محدودیت سے بیان نہیں کیا جا سکتا۔ ہمارا رب صفت سے بہت بلند ہے، تو پھر کیسے محدودیت سے اسے بیان کیا جا سکتا ہے جسے محدود نہیں کیا جا سکتا، جبکہ آنکھیں اسے پا نہیں سکتیں اور وہ تمام آنکھوں کا احاطہ کرتا ہے، اور وہ لطیف، خبیر ہے۔'
Translation
Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazan, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Ibrahim Bin Abdul Hameed, from Abu Hamza who said, ‘Ali<sup>asws</sup> Bin Al-Husayn<sup>asws</sup> said to me: ‘O Abu Hamza! Allah<sup>azwj</sup> cannot be described by the limitations. Our Lord<sup>azwj</sup> is greater than the attributes, so how can one described by limitations the One<sup>azwj</sup> Who cannot be limited, and the <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:6#h103"><a href="/books/quran:6#h103">[6:103]</a></a> Visions cannot comprehend Him, and He Comprehends (all) visions</span>, and He<sup>azwj</sup> is Aware of the subtleties, the All-Knowing?’.
