Al-Kafi 2714

Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al hakam, from Abdullah Bin Yahya Al Kahily, from Muhammad Bin Malik, from Abdul A’ala, a slave of the family of Saam who said, ‘Abu Abdullah^asws narrated to me with a Hadeeth, so I said to him^asws, ‘May I be sacrificed for you^asws! Did you^asws not have a (<span class="iTxt">Z’am</span>) to me at such and such a time?’ So he^asws said: ‘No’. So that was grievous upon me, so I said, ‘Yes, by Allah^azwj, you^asws did had a (<span class="iTxt">Z’am</span>)’. So he^asws said: ‘No, by Allah^azwj I^asws did not had such a (<span class="iTxt">Z’am</span>) about you. So it was grievous upon me, so I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you^asws! Yes, you^asws did say it’. He^asws said: ‘Yes, I^asws had said it. But, do you not know that all (<span class="iTxt">Z’am</span>) in the Quran signify lies?’.
