John Shaqi

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَا كَفَّارَةُ الِاغْتِيَابِ قَالَ تَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ لِمَنِ اغْتَبْتَهُ كُلَّمَا ذَكَرْتَهُ .


Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from his father, from Haroun Bin Al Jahm, from Hafs Bin Umar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Prophet<sup>saww</sup> was asked, ‘What is ‘كَفَّارَةُ’ (<span class="iTxt">Kufara</span> - the expiation) of the backbiting?’ He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘You should seek Forgiveness of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> for the one whom you backbit against, every time you remember it’.
