إِنَّ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ أَطْلَقُوا لِلنَّاسِ تَعْلِيمَ الْإِيمَانِ وَ لَمْ يُطْلِقُوا تَعْلِيمَ الشِّرْكِ لِكَيْ إِذَا حَمَلُوهُمْ عَلَيْهِ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوهُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al Qasim Bin Muhammad, from Al Minqary, from Sufyan Bin Uyayna, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Clan of Umayya started teaching <span class="iTxt">Emān</span> to the people but did not launch the teaching of <span class="iTxt">Shirk</span> (Polytheism), so that when they do carry them upon it, they would not be recognising it’.
