قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّ الْقَلْبَ لَيَكُونُ السَّاعَةَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ مَا فِيهِ كُفْرٌ وَ لَا إِيمَانٌ كَالثَّوْبِ الْخَلَقِ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي أَ مَا تَجِدُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ تَكُونُ النُّكْتَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي الْقَلْبِ بِمَا شَاءَ مِنْ كُفْرٍ وَ إِيمَانٍ . عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ مِثْلَهُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Ja’far Bin Usman, from Sama’at, from Abu Baseer and someone else who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The heart happens to be such during a time of the day and the night that there is neither a <span class="iTxt">Kufr</span> (disbelief) in it nor <span class="iTxt">Emān</span>, like the newly-created garment’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said to me: ‘But, do you not find that from yourself?’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘The spot appears from Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> in the heart with whatever Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> has so Desired it to be, from <span class="iTxt">Kufr</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span>’. <span style="font-size: small">A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Muhammad Bin Abu Umeyr </span>– smilar to it.
