John Shaqi

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ أَنْ يُكْرِمَ عَبْداً وَ لَهُ ذَنْبٌ ابْتَلَاهُ بِالسُّقْمِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ابْتَلَاهُ بِالْحَاجَةِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ بِهِ ذَلِكَ شَدَّدَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ لِيُكَافِيَهُ بِذَلِكَ الذَّنْبِ قَالَ وَ إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ أَنْ يُهِينَ عَبْداً وَ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةٌ صَحَّحَ بَدَنَهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ بِهِ ذَلِكَ وَسَّعَ عَلَيْهِ فِي رِزْقِهِ فَإِنْ هُوَ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ بِهِ هَوَّنَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ لِيُكَافِيَهُ بِتِلْكَ الْحَسَنَةِ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Abdulah Bin Sinan, from Hamza Bin Humran, from his father, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Says: “When it was from His<sup>azwj</sup> Command that He<sup>azwj</sup> Honours a servant and there is a sin for him, He<sup>azwj</sup> would Try him with the sickness. So if He<sup>azwj</sup> does not Do that to him, He<sup>azwj</sup> would Try him with the need. So if He<sup>azwj</sup> does not Do that with him, He<sup>azwj</sup> would Make the death to be more difficult upon him in order to Make it expiation for the sin with that’. He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘And when it was from His<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Command that He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Humiliates a servant and there is a sin for him, would Grant health to his body. So if He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> does not Do that with him, He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> would Expand his sustenance upon him. So if he does not Do that with him, He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> would Ease the death upon him for the compensation of his good deed’.
